You may not know this, but the world of miniature train collecting can be very, very lucrative. One of the most profitable historic pieces of miniature trains is the 1908-14 Lionel 8 Trolley. Made in the early 1900s, this train had only five versions produced, but few examples of the first generation are known.

The train has “8” marked on the sides, as opposed to the inscription “No. 8” much more common. It measures 20.25" long and has a "Pay As You Go" sign. A recent model sold for an astonishing $ 8,500 at auction, so anyone lucky enough to have this train in good condition could be looking at a high resale value.
