Steiff is known for making high-end toys and valuable collectibles, and is most famous for its bears. That's because Steiff actually invented the teddy bear in 1902. Founded by Margarete Steiff in the late 1800's, the company has patented over sixteen thousand different designs of stuffed animals.
The Steiff “Diamond Eyes” bears are super limited editions. Only 125 of these deluxe teddy were produced in 2008. They have a gold nose and mouth, fur made of gold thread, and eyes composed of glittering sapphires and diamonds. At the time, they cost US $ 35,000. Now that price has jumped to almost $$200,000.
