The first generation of Transformers was 1985, in its second year, and Hasbro was giving licenses to bring more toys into the growing story. Jetfire was one of those toys, and it was one of the most sought-after Transformers in the line. Jetfire transforms into a 1/55 scale Super Valkyrie (VF-1S).

The design was much more intricate than many other Transformers, which was part of the reason it was so cool. The Jetfire's steps had to be completed in exactly the right order, otherwise it wouldn't work. The original 1980s G1 Jetfire Transformers are worth $$ 6,000 on some auction sites.
