101 things in your attic that could be worth a lot of money

1. Milk Cup Easter Eggs

Manufacturer: varies, many handmade
original price: US$ 1 to US$ 5*
Worth today: US$ 25*

In America, the first known artificial Easter eggs were handcrafted, opaque, milky glass eggs. They became popular around the turn of the century and were often given to people as Easter gifts. Now that's all, but these milk glass eggs had a practical side. You could use them to stimulate a hen to produce real eggs, and you could mend a sock with this egg in it.

Many of these eggs were made by hand as the process became a craft industry. Men would blow glass in a hot furnace, and their wives and daughters would hand-paint them to decorate. These old eggs can now be resold for US$ 25 or more on sites like eBay, as long as they are in good condition.
