The Cabbage Patch Kids were a line of fabric dolls with plastic heads. Launched by Coleco Industries in 1982, these dolls, like many other toys from the era, are worth far more than their original retail value.
The rarest Cabbage Patch figures, such as the “Baldies” and the “Red Fuzzies” (dolls with red hair made of wool), are worth between US$ 100 and US$ 1,000. However, a doll based on former US vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin fetched US$ 10,000 on eBay. The puppet had Palin wearing a red pants suit, glasses and black shoes. Despite being released just over a decade ago, this one-of-a-kind doll has bested much more expensive vintage Cabbage Patch dolls at auction.
